I'm pulling my hair out and hope you guys can help,
Trying to get my clutch working, have a 1985 CJ7, 350 chevy, AA bell housing(712577) to the GM NV4500, purchased all parts AA recommends, CF high profile pressure plate (CF165552)
the appropriate through out bearing (P/N N1430) the iron duke slave cylinder (716331).
Now I had basically the same set up with an AA bell and a T5 trans which retained the amc clutch fork, the duke slave, and I had a YJ master pushing the fluid
the new set up from AA uses the GM style fork which is straight with the 2 slots, and I can not seem to get enough throw on it,
I have read where some guys use the duke slave ( 7/8" bore ) and the matching master well when I could not get this working I dug up a early eighties 2.5 iron duke master
I had laying around but it only has a 5/8" bore same as the YJ master which I used before with the amc set up.
I tried unthreading the clutch fork pivot ball on the bell housing to get me closer to the pressure plate, which ended up working, but now the throw out bearing is spinning with the pressure plate
so if I try to adjust to give it the recommended play 1/16" I can't dis engage.
The write ups that I have found that say the iron duke slave and master work, I wonder if these people are aware that maybe the throw out bearing is spinning with the pressure plate.( I only seem to be getting 1" travel on the fork.)
I can get mine working like this but I'm sure the bearing will eventually burn.........
I really hope guys have encountered this type of set up and may have some advice, I did try calling AA but did not get lucky with the guy I got on the phone
thanks in advance

After pulling the Ring & Pinion out of my 1982 CJ7 I discovered that it has a 2.73 or maybe a 2.72 gear ratio (which doesn't appear to be a gear ratio that belongs to a Model 30 front axle), so I checked the rear gear ratio and that appears to be the same (2.73). When I searched for parts with that gear ratio it appears that I can NOT buy them for that year, so I called a parts distributor and they claim that can NOT be the case. Not sure what to do or where to go from here.......Please help!

Hi,

I have a 1994 Ranger 4x4 and am in need of spindle studs. I tried the dealer and they are discontinued. It's a dana 35 axle and the studs are 10mm fine thread. Would it be ok to open up the holes and use the dana 44 kit with the 7/16"-20 stud
